Edinburgh Central offers 5 star VisitScotland accredited hostel accommodation in the heart of the city, close to major transport links and ideally positioned for exploring Scotland's capital. The hostel offers a wide variety of private rooms and shared dorm accommodation making it a perfect base for couples, families and solo travellers looking to explore and enjoy Scotland’s capital city on a budget. All rooms have en-suite facilities and individual lockers.
The hostel’s welcoming and vibrant communal spaces are perfect for relaxing and socialising. Our Café Bar is open from 7am to 11pm daily offering a wide selection of delicious food and drink. WiFi is free for all guests and other facilities include: a small but well-equipped guest kitchen, meeting rooms, laundry, secure bike storage and a luggage store for anyone arriving early and eager to head off right away to explore the city!
The hostel is just ten minutes on foot from Waverley railway station, the bus station and close to York Place tram stop. Parking near Edinburgh Central is possible, with on-street Pay & Display spaces in the surrounding area and at nearby Greenside Car Park (contact the hostel directly for more information).

Easy to get to and from train station. Don't need to climb up the hill with all luggages like old town. But the room quite small, not suit for group with many luggagesMonthira

Really good. Friendly staff; great vibe. Rooms were best I'd stayed in at a hostel. Self catering kitchen excellent, and some big community areas. Only slight downsides was the lack of availability of the table tennis for the kids (but we weren't expecting it!) and to have the shower on hot meant it full blast.....which was lovely, but maybe a bit wasteful.Ben

Edinburgh Youth Hostel is amazing! Set in a very convenient spot right by the train station but still calm enough to feel homely. It's clean, neat and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We stayed here for a P7 trip with 44 children and 6 adults. Prior to the stay, the hostel team were amazing at responding to questions and queries. We booked a whole floor, the hostel was so secure and had brilliant security, reassuring knowing we had so many children away in a city. I was very surprised how modern, clean and convenient the hostel was. Ideal place to stay for a school trip, tram stop right outside it. Highly recommend. Thank you - great service!Highland School

Great value accommodation, booked in for an overnight stay with family as we were going to the theatre.Location is excellent for The Playhouse and plenty eating out options.The main shopping areas are a 10 minute walk away or there are buses and trams if you prefer.Dorothy
